About Us

Sunset Events operates out of a little shed in Fremantle. We like to think of it as minimalist – or perhaps deconstructionalist. The company employs a handful of people who, after a couple of espressos (or beers on a Friday arvo), manage to come up with some pretty nifty ideas. We then knock our collective heads together and set about implementing those nifty ideas. Some of those have included Southbound, West Coast Blues ’n’ Roots, North West Festival and more. And the scary thing is we have plenty more ideas.

As well as looking after national touring festivals (St Jerome’s Laneway & Groovin the Moo) Sunset run a community food event, Truckstop which hosts a variety of Perth food trucks and vendors with live music over the spring, summer and autumn season and recently have we have begun a new journey into beer brewing, Otherside Brewing Co. which started off earlier this year.

At Sunset we can offer you an insight to all aspects of the office including Marketing & Communications, Accreditation & Ticketing, Front of House, Venues, Event Management and Administration.

Internship Period

The internship consists of one day a week (flexible, but preferably the same day each week) in the office (Fremantle), as well as being involved at key events. The total time of the internship is 10 weeks.  Please note: this is an unpaid internship.

- Internship can be accredited to relevant study/reference provided at completion of study

Why Intern with us?

At Sunset Events, we offer a 10-week program for the right candidate to become a vital member of our team.  You will be exposed to all aspects of how an event comes together and the people behind it that make it happen. Sunset Events have set a high standard for all of our events and we will assist, guide and develop your skills throughout the internship.  We have a carefully planned out schedule for the ‘Peak Season’ and Off Season’. This way you get to trial everything.

If your internship overlaps with an event, you may have the opportunity to assist leading up to and on event day. You can get a chance to experience all the roles and switch around with the other interns throughout the day.  (We will also keep in touch with our past Interns to make sure they get the chance to work/volunteer at our events).
